Penny Knapp - Painter

Painting opens a door through the right brain to inner and outer worlds. I love plein aire painting, and am most drawn to the evanescent intrigue of light and reflections. I enjoy riffing from images of people to paintings that imagine more about them, and painting imagined aspects of old and new stories.

I have studied painting at the University of California Davis Art department, while I was on the faculty of the School of Medicine, at the Mendocino Art Center, and at the La Romita Art School in Umbria Italy.

I have exhibited at Art At The Source – West Sonoma County’s open studios, and at galleries and wineries in Yolo and Sonoma County. I am a participating member of the Russian River Art Gallery in Guerneville.
