Carolyn Jarvis - Oil Painter

Sebastopol, CA oil painter is best know for local ocean and vineyard scenes. She is captivated by the process and challenge of creating colorful, spontaneous oil paintings that attempt to capture the light. She often uses a palette knife instead of brushes because she likes the freshness and color vibrancy. She enjoys plein air and studio painting.

For three years, Carolyn took painting classes from Van Waldron, who had been a student of the famous Russian master painter Sergei Bongart.

Her paintings have been exhibited in Sonoma County, CA wineries, including Balletto, St. Francis and Chateau Diana, and in Valley Art Gallery, Walnut Creek, CA. Her paintings have shown at Artisans’ Co-op in Bodega, and Hands Goods in Occidental, CA from 2016 to the present time.
